this probably isn't the right place to ask....
« on: Apr 17, 2003, 11:45:21 AM »
Hey
first off let me state that I'm a Marlin-board fan over the other BB's out there (less trash talking, same large amount of info etc etc..) but does anyone know what's up with the pirate board?  did one too many newbies get flamed or called gay or something? One too many 'how big of tires can I run with IFS' posts? I'm curious.  anybody??? :dunno: :psss:

Yeah I have had alot of bad experiences on the pirates bbs. But what should I expect? Im Marlin's son. Its hard for my voice to go unbiased over there. Also, about 3 or 4 people in particular are complete donkey holes and they dont give a :pokinit: about me. Isnt that funny? We've never even met yet Im getting judged. Not the type of friends I want to go wheeling with.

There are alot of nice people over there who put up with it and actually help out once in a while, but what we are trying to do here is create a friendly environment without the flip-off smilies and the bashing everyone out attitude.

But above all, I just like how small this forum is. We all know each other :thumb:

i mainley use them for the motorcycle thread.  there's some cool guys there.

the toyota section i think is full of probabley half and half of trash talkers and helpful people.  i've been useing this board and pbb for about a year now and i have gotten used to certain people that i listen to.  if someone is acting like a jerk because of what ever reason and over reacting then i just ad him to my ignore list.

now there is a newbie question section where you are supposed to not get "flamed." but it still happens.  i guess talking trash to someone on the internet makes some of these kids feel like real men or somthing.
what ever. :shake:

to tell you the truth i ask way more of my tech questions over here then there.  folks here answer without argueing with each other.  and a logical answer usually comes out instead of a, "just do this and shut up," answer.

also those silly flip off smilies are kind getting old.   i like the bouncing ones now. :screwy:

I go on pirates allot, There is some good tech on there some really good tech and allot of BS to wade through to find it. The thing that really bugs me is when someone askes a simple question and gets "flamed" in stead of just geting the simple answer, Then when you try to seach all you find is posts saying "search newbie" but recently they are geting better about it.

Its not a bad fourm you just have to act different then you would here:up:

Amen to all that stuff, I'm just curious to see if it's still working or what the deal is with it.  If it isn't working anymore does that mean that we can expect to see a large growth in the beloved Marlin board?  I think that'd be fine as long as it keeps the positive, mellow vibe.  It also would be funny to steal all the big names from the PBB (camo, DRM, etc) in a really sick way and use the ID's to ask dumb questions here. hmmmmm...
