Nah, the 85 will be for mud/rocks/dirt roads and stuff... this truck will be DD/ fun toy. Maybe I don't NEED it, but I WANT it. Or at least opinions on it. Hitting table top speed bumps at 80 mph, jumping cattle guards, flying over rail road crossings, bombing down desert roads...
a guy on here has a 3rd gen 4 runner and rocks the total chaos lift. i talked to him on the rubicon. said it does great
Personnel if i had a wheeling truck and a DD I would not do more then a 1" 4crawler body lift and a set of BFG ATs and maybe a locker. Makes no sence spending that much 4x4 $$ on a DD when you got a wheeler.
before i sased my 4runner i had that tc kit and it work great gives great road manners and handled great offroad. the only thing i broke was the front 2 shocks
if your gonna do the TC kit, which is BADASS, dont do a body lift, for your own safety...
If you can afford it I've got two words for you: DO IT.My buddy ran the gen 1 caddy kit on his 93 and we rallied the piss out of it and it rode smooth as glass even after 1000s of miles of pure abuse. jumped it at sand mountain a few times over 10 feet above the ground. usually the only damage at the end of the day was a bruised up driver and co pilot Well worth the big $$$ and you can still crawl with it, great for a multipurpose rig
I had the tc2 kit and was running a set of rancho coilovers but yeah i used to jump my 4runner over pismo dunes but its definately worth the money so i vote for that kit
Go for it! Either that setup or maybe Camburg. IFS has its place!!!
When done right, small body lifts have 0 effect on safety. Small being 3" or under IMO.
i guess a small body lift wouldnt be a problem but i would be worried about forcing the BL through the cab floor after a hard hit.
