I rolled in around 5pm last night and 10 min into the trail it started dumpin. So we wheeled up to Soup Bowl and camped there with some buddies. When I woke up this morning there was at least a foot and a half of snow everywhere and it was still snowing. So I packed up and it took me 4.5 hours to get to Loon because of traffic. Then I drove all the way to Modesto in the rain with Half doors on. I had fun tho! lol

Could have been worse.  It could have snowed all weekend

This was the camp that Jud and our group woke up to Sat am.

Jud headed out and the other 2 guys in our group and I headed for Buck and the springs. We wheeled all day down to the springs and back.  Got back into camp at about 11pm after some of the guys in our little group had multiple tire problems.  Our tent had colasped and our bags and my wife's clothes were more wet then she wanted.  We ended up heading back to the trucks at Loon late Saturday/early Sunday Morning.  Pretty much had the trail to ourselves 3am Sunday morning.  Other then being Cold and little wet we had a good trip.

Some how I knew you would leave right when you got back to camp. It took me like 4.5hrs to get back to Loon that morning.

We got into Loon and set up camp in the dark on Thursday. It rained, haled, and snowed non-stop until we left Saturday. If we had brought more dry fire wood, we might have stayed longer. It was cold and wet. Looking forward to We-Rock at Donner Ski Ranch, and of course, MARLINS B-Day in Sept.

We got to the tahoe side at 7pm friday and it was snowing like a pregnant dog! we made some custom tops and continued our journey half way down cadilac it turned to pouring rain. We stayed at the springs and wheeled to buck island and played on the wall for a bit and headed back to camp. we left sun morning :rivers:we were supposed to stay until monday but couldnt take being cold and wet anymore!

i think just about everyone here pasted me and my group...we arrived at loon at about 1am saturday morning and wheeled up past the slabs...woke saturday at around 8 to snow covered everything! then we got packed up as about 15 rigs drove past all covered with tarps. we then headed up trail towards the box while passing roughly 60 rigs all covered with tarps...i had blown a bead and had a couple younger guys give me a hand with their power tank(thanx!). once to the box we watched the toyota with rockwells and 53s crawl up the box then the rest of the group(not me...figured i had pressed my luck getting to where we were) decided to head for buck. i dint get more then a half a mile farther when my rear end exploded!!! im sure some of you guys drove past my rig with the neon green bumper and sliders held up either by rocks, tires, a floor jack, a high lift or all of the above at some point...all in all i had a great time, the weather wasnt so good for my first time on the rubicon and for my first time going seriously rock crawling. my group didnt get out till about 5pm monday after towing my rig with only FWD and another rig with only RWD to ice house road.  luckly a couple guys in my group were informed about a back road from icehouse to just above ellis creek that is all fireroads and snow drifts

hey kyle, we saw your rig on the side of the trail just past the box, then one of our guys rolled his rig and landed on the cab, took us a little while to get him back over.  made it to the springs about 5 or so on sunday, crossed the creek to get to the camp sites just past the springs.  rained on us all night, when we got up in the morning, creek was up a good six inches or so from the night before.  we all flooded out our rigs.  finally made it up cadillac and off to tahoe for breakfast at denny's.  we got some good pics and video footage of the weekend.  it wasn't looking good though when i busted a birfield saturday morning, thought that was it for the weekend, but luckily the guys camped next to us had one and sold it to me for  $20!  i was stoked.  oh yea, and on our way down the 50, bearings on one of the tailers seized up, so we had to stop and fix it,  saw a lot of you guys drive by and honk.  i think kyle was the last one i saw drive by before we took off.  great weekend though.

yes this was my first time actually(trying)rockcrawling and my truck held up till just past the box...now i know that i need new rear springs, a "real" locker, a spare 3rd w/ matching ratios, and tcase gears...my truck was definatly not slow enough for what i was doing.   and i wasnt doing anything to crazy when it broke, just trying to climb a small ledge, maybe it was all the "when in doubt, throttle out" and DGAFing on the way in the put it over the edge

That was me that sold you the birf and inner.  Screaming deal I know, but I did feel sorry for you.  Breaking a birfield before you even hit the trail, and having to change it out while it's snowing.  Glad you had good luck the rest of the weekend though.
