The BudBuilt unit is a two part, bolt together unit. Ours is made as a single piece of steel.

regarding the dual case crossmember
I know I have asked before, but couldn't you just drill another drain hole in the appropriatte place if you only have a single case and are planning to get a dual set up in the future?

Is there a particular reason why it will not work? If not when will the single case version be available?

If it won't work then I might have to buy the BUDBUILT crossmember, because they make one for a single case.

It's not going to fit and we are not working on a single case crossmember at this time.

I just installed the marlin crossmember in the single case configuration.  I installed a new v8 mount and already had a low profile drain plug.  I notched the plate under the drain plug for access, but I don't think that it would have hit if I didn't.   :turtle: stuff is  :clap2: :bounce: :rara: :cheer:

You need to post some pics and show how you installed it. I have mine installed on a single too, but Jeeps don't count here. I used the back mounting holes and slid it forward. This works good and helps protect the transmission.

Here is the thread where I posted pictures:

http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=9215.0

I didn't consider moving the cross member forward, but I think it works great in the stock location and now I can get used to the location under the truck so I will be ready when I get duals installed.  It is true that the ground clearance increases, but since it is so long I think it will actually reduce the useable ground clearance, the protection is awesome!

Oh, I meant a V6 mount, not a V8, and who has a Jeep?  My glasses are made by Jeep, but I drive a toyota.
