Front drive shaft extension....
« on: Jul 09, 2004, 07:58:15 AM »
Marlin Crew...

If I extend the length of the front drive to equal the amount in length that I would lose from adding dual cases, and then buy the long slip from you, would the 8" of slip be enough for running 85 rears up front on 35's?

And no, I am not going to build a square shaft.  I don't want one.  Even if one was givin to me.

If you account for the extra 2" that rears move the axle, sure.
I believe long slip is for the droop you get from soft springs. When you measure for driveshaft length, I think you measure from flange to flange.
Tire size doesn't come into the equation.
I'd run square without hesitation, if I didn't like 4 wheel dirt tracking so much.

The only real way to tell is meaure you droop and and 6 1/2 inches for the extra case, other wise it's an educated guess , but who knw how much droop your gonna bet until you flex it up.
