Front drive Shaft
« on: Jan 28, 2003, 04:15:29 AM »
I have a 79 toy that has a 5" lift, and I just put on new front shackles from all pro off road that lifted it about an inch more.  My front drive shaft is now binding and I need to do something.  The alignment shop said they could not get any more angle out of the pinion.  Is there any one with any ideas about it? New Drive Shaft or Modify my Existing one?????

Thanks for any help,
David Salazar

Are you running dual cases? This will help a little.
Twin high angle CV joints in the frount. Havn't seen this, just an idea
Cut and turn the axle. Have this done profesionaly. Alot can go wrong. This is the most common fix fo frount driveline problems.

you need to switch to an 85 or newer, big style drive shaft. It can take more angle.

But avoid all Independent front drivelines as they are no better than your 79'
