Aight so id like to see who all wants to convoy down to MCR this year from the Washington/Idaho area.
The Round-Up is September 12th through the 14th, held on the Rubicon in California.
Registration will be open on/after for the Round-Up, May12th
I will be leaving early the morning of the 11th to get a good start. and i wont have to rush.

Im intrested Im In newberg Or, and Will meet you On I-5 at exit 287? sound like a plan?

Anybody who d like to meet up along my route to Cali, let me know. any body along my route is welcome to join up or meet.
Ill be going west to spokane, then southwest to the Tri-Cities, then south across the river and follow it to Portland, then south on 1-5? to cali.
so let me know guys and ill put your name on the list and your location... get an idea of stops we gotta make to convoy up.

Yeah its MONTHS away... but heck why not set some sort of plans now?
get an idea of what we got.
LETS ROCK THE WEST ALL THE WAY TO AND THRU THE CON!

Here's Who I Have So Far Wanting To Convoy.
if your on the list and cant make it, let me know
once the convoy is set.
Ill set it concrete about a month or so before the Round-Up,
so a route can be made, that is the most helpful to us all.

soon as we hit I-5 in Portland, we are following it down to Sacremento, and take I-80 thru Auburn and Truckee to the western Entrance.

:headscratch: why wouldn't you take 50 up to Ice house road?  If you come in on the Tahoe side, I think you'll be disappointed.  IMO, that side isn't nearly as fun as coming in through Loon, and cadillac always seems to be backed up.

You can't get to loon that way :gap:

You can either go up 50 to icehouse road, and take Icehouse to loon, or you can take 80 up to truckee, and go down 89 to the cadillac side entrance.  Of course you could take 80 to 89 and go down to 50, and then go west on 50 until you get to icehosue, but that is a lot of extra driving.

This might help.

no take highway 50 from Sac?

:yesnod:

go down 5, all the way to Sacramento, cruise straight through town, and Jump on 50 going East toward South Lake Tahoe.  Head East until you get to Icehouse, take a left, and head up the hill.

Just make sure that when you go through sac, it isn't rush hour (4-7 or so )  Being downtown at that time is a pregnant dog.  :yesnod:

its prety straight forward.  If I remember right, its about 30 miles up, hang a right on the loon lake turnoff, and stay on there until you run across the spillway, and to the trailhead

Most people park them at or near the spillway.  Some people actually camp at robb's resort or even at the placerville KOA the night before, then drive their rigs to the trail, leaving towrig and trailer at the resort.  You can also pay for parking only at Robb's I believe.

mapquest says from sandpoint idaho to portland oregon is almost a 7 hour drive. and then portland to sacramento is another 9. plus the highway to the con i'm sure is about another hour or so.
