$7k - 1992 SAS South Bay Toy Rock Crawler
« on: Mar 13, 2008, 11:01:45 PM »
SOUTH BAY WHEELER!

SAS Toyota Truck 4x4 Wheeling Machine! This truck is a 1992, solid axle swapped bomb proof wheeler. She just recently took down the RUBICON trail (most challenging rock crawling trail in N. America)! I have spent well over 25K on her but as a student sometimes cash in hand is better than an ultimate 4x4 toy! All work installed professionally by Klinzmann Fabrication (Fort Collins, CO)

The features (not all inclusive, too many to list):

-150 HP (normal stock is 100!!!!) R series 22re D.O.A. racing engine with DUAL timing chain

-All pro 4.5" lift plus SAS swap kit (bilsteins, high steer, etc...)

-35" MTR Goodyears (4), plus one 36" spare

-LOW JACK LIFETIME PROTECTION (thats kinda cool huh?)

-Front and rear Beefed up axles (front is an 85' solid!!!)

-Locked in the front with ARB (plus compressor, heavy duty line and air attachment), locked in the back with a lock rite.

-Chromoly front axle shafts (Marlin)

-Cryogenically frozen birfields (plus stock spares)

-Doug Thorley header + Flow Master muffler

-5/29 Reider Racing gears

-Front, side and rear custom trail armor

-Entire front end recently serviced including replacing all seals (including ARB)

-Uniden CB radio

-Kenwood 4" speakers

-Custom Driveshafts

-Topper

-KC daylighters

-I'm tempted to keep the towing support gear and tools but I might be persuaded to part with them

-SOOO MUCH MORE (easily over 25K)

As you can see my baby had been pampered with the best so I can run it hard on the trail. I do not use it as a daily driver and there are minimal miles on the DOA engine

SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, $7,500 or best offer!

RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

The most expensive part I see is the DOA engine. but yes 25K invested must mean he paid the shop with $500 labor rates to do the build. in that case it makes sense.

fortysix and two speaks the truth!

Build cost about 5k, parts about 17K as it was bear bones stock (DOA engine was $4500)

But, lots of extras along the way.....

Yep, stock T-case...next mod was lower gears or chromoly birfs.....

Ok, in MY opinion, going through ALL the obstacles was the toughest trail I'VE done in N. America  :outtahere:

oh, I've got the receipts to prove it too
