Bottom knuckle cap
« on: Mar 04, 2008, 05:08:01 PM »
The bottom cap on my knuckle that holds the bearings busted the pin off.  :smack:

People don't have those laying around as extras to sell.  They do have a lot of top steering arms from when they put their Hi-Steer arms on. I am thinking that I could use a top steering arm on the bottom.  Cut/grind off the arms and use it for a bottom cap?  Will that work?   I was looking around for my old arms to measure up.  But I think I through them in the trash. :dunno:

If so, does anyone have one old arm they could give me?

Thanks for any help!

Thats a odd mod to that high steer arm. What are the details?

I would just search everywhere someone is bound to have them on a knuckle that the screwed up some way or another.

it should work fine for you.  I just went into the garage to check, and a Jarm fits in the bottom of a knuckle, the only thing I could think of is that the height of the large step might be different.  That could be machined down of course...

Thanks for the input.  I wonder if it will work.  I am going to do some measuring/fitting.  Just to see.

yes it will work.  just use the cone washers with it.  we did it on a runner last month because we couldn't find any bottom caps.  just cut the arm parts off.
