yep, chevy introduced tbi in late 86 on the trucks. basicly just an electronic carb.

I been doing some searching around and it appears that the Beast was probably made by Centurion...it is actually called a 5th Wheel Van Conversion.

I haven't had any new prospects, but I found some pimp blue RV seats.  Maybe I will keep the Beast for now and get her some new seats.

Wow.  Bad news.   

This thing is a total basket case and will suck your money dry, especially since it's a 1990.  I had a car once with that miserable thropttle-body injection.

- All the computers and maintainence of a fuel injected engine, and at that age, the electricals on it are going to start dying.  Not cheap to fix by a long shot.
- All the problems of a carb, too.
- When it works, it's great.  Too bad I've never seen one that didn't drive like junk.  I'd be surprized with all that smog equipment on it as well if it didn't barely make 200HP in the shape it's in.

I'm a chevy guy and love the 454s but that one just needs way more than the beast master. Just keep shoping and get a deisel. I do think you will be ahead of the game with a deisel, but if the deisel has problems you will be out more money, than with a gas burner.

Yeah...I would like a diesel, but...maybe getting rid of the beast isn't in the cards right now.  At least I know, even though she costs a fortune in gas...she will get me there and back.  And change her own oil along the way.

well have you thought about maybe doing an engine swap to the BeastMaster?  You know, throw in a 6Cyl Cummins or maybe a PowerStroke?

Holy cannolli...I was looking at the bed to see about removing it if I kept the truck.  That whole thing sits right on the frame with 1/4 inch plates welded between the bed and frame.
