Gittinit

I would cut it and get a male/female plug that can be unpliged, at your convience. You may want tube doors, or half doors later that don't need all those wires. I'm not shure how many wires you have but a trailer wiring 4 pin flat plug type setup may work good.
Hug your kids, pray for a soldier, and don't sweat the small stuff.

I just pull the quick release pin in the hinges I made... this wire stuff is foreign to me. What are the wires for exactly?

Just kidding! I would just cut them and put in a connector to make it work... maybe someone with experience with this whole wire idea will post up.

the first question is how many wires do you have, dave.
after that it's all cake.

If it's just the speaker wires, I'm picturing a plug similar to a 4 pin trailer plug, but with only two wires - one male and one female per side.  I know you know what I mean duff.

About 8 or 10 wires. When I took the driver power door off my parts truck I cut the harness. When I put it on my non-power 4Runner & only wired the driverside window so I could at least operate it. I haven't got the passenger side on yet but what plan to do is mount the window & door lock switches in the truck (no location picked yet, possible dash or center console). That should eliminate some of the wiring. Cut it & use some connectors.

If you move the switches to the cab, you could use a set of contacts like these to make your doors removeable, if that is what you want.

A little high $ for me, but it would work.

If you reach up in the dash the harness out of the door plugs in behind the dash as a unit.  Just unplug it there and pull it out of the cab problem solved.

Rocksurfer

Ahhh, the beauty of crank up windows and manual door locks, find a junker in the junkyard cut out the part of the harness to the doors splice them together and use them as a disconnect.

GA Runner

is this easy to do. im 17 and want to drive around with my doors off. is it easy to put them back on ocasionally?

WHITE_TRASH

There are a couple ways to do it.  You can make pins that are removable.  Or do what I did thats WAY easy and fast to do.  Plus its cake to put the doors on or take them off.

I took the doors off and left the hinge on the cab.  I cut the top of the upper hole in each hinge so its like a U shape now instead of being a round hole.  On the bottom hinge I cut the upper hole almost all the way off.  I left about 1/8" of the original hole there to locate the lower part of the door.

Now I just run 2 bolts per door, both in the upper hole for each hinge.  I keep a 12mm ratchet wrench with me in the glove box now so all I have to do is loosen the bolts and lift it off, problem solved and its free. :gap:

GA Runner

how did yall get your doors off a cant find a wrench or anything to fit in there. do i need to remove the fenders to get in there?

WHITE_TRASH

Pull the hinges off the door not the cab... A 12mm end wrench fits just fine.
