I think that we should have some sort of a way to take notes, like you can high light and copy/paste on a note pad. Maybe an option in the tool bar where we have         HOME   HELP   ARCADE   PROFILE   MY MSGS   CLAENDER    MEMBER MAP    MEMBERS    NOTEPAD    LOGOUT..... cause i find some good info and cant remember where i found it. Copy a link and you can save it on the note pad and then you can go back to it!

I really like the idea. Keeping them as favorites gets old after a while. I don't like it. A notepad would be awesome. you get a thumbs up!

I've also done this with a word document, titled MC links, and then pastede them on there, but this would be easier

I still think its a good idea.      Just not sure if SMF software has the funtionality built in.  If they don't support it, its not something that could just be built in, even if they do it will still be more than just a simple turn it on.

like i say i still like it.   Use it all the time on my vw forum.  but then again that forums software search function sucks.

You can create sub categories in your favorites....  I have vendors, tech info, misc crap and then the standard main with all my forums listed.  Makes life really easy to find things without digging through a huge list of crap...

I think this is a great idea. If you use a different computer other than your home one then you will have the info in the Notepad no matter what computer you use

good point!  I just put stuff I want to keep track of in my favorites, but when I'm at work, in the evenings, it kind of sucks, because I don't have the favorites to go back to.

yes, but you cant actually take your own notes down in the same place as the links.  it just a link and not your ideas, measurments and so on.   and yes i probably have a hundred folders in my favorites.  :gap:

Sometimes i'll pm myself a link to the build or write up that I'd like to show a friend if they need help or ideas. I've got a lot under favorites too but this way if i'm at someone elses home I've still got a link to it just by logging on to marlin.  :twocents:

I've used del.icio.us with good results.

http://del.icio.us/

Install the FireFox plugin, and when you are on a site you want to bookmark, hit the "Tag" button, and del.icio.us will store it, and you can add notes and other info. It works really well when you figure out the tagging system. Using descriptive, but short tags will help organize your links.

For example, see how others have bookmarked Marlin Crawler things? http://del.icio.us/search/?fr=del_icio_us&p=marlin+crawler&type=all

Edit: you can share your bookmarks, too. Also, you can pull them up from anywhere, not just your computer.

That might work for you but I logon to Marlin from a company computer. The company I work for has Websense (internet filter) & it blocks certain sites & click commands. I can't see Dave's Offroad cause of malicious contant  :dunno:
