I have a 1985 Toyota pickup extra cab frame, what if possible, would it take to put a 1st generation 4runner body on it

Yes you can but it's not a direct bolt on. You will have to build body mounts. The rear of the truck frame is different than a 4Runner. The rear body mounts on a 4Runner are on the outside of the frame. On the truck the bed bolts through the frame. Also you have a long bed frame, you will have to shorten you wheel base to match a short bed.

You may want to use a bodylift there are a few things on the frame that will get in the way that sit higher on the truck.

I swapped a 85 pickup cab onto an 86 4-runner frame

The two sets of front mounts under the core support and firewall are the exact same.
The third set you will have to move forward on the pickup frame, its about 5-6" cant remember.
You will have to cut off the bed mounts and weld on the 4-runner body mounts.

Once you get the 4-runner body on the 85 frame just align and secure the front four body mounts then make some final measurements and burn on the new mounts.
