I can kind of see though how if he was going 15 mph that could happen if he was in double low, hitting it at that angle.....probably happened pretty quick with all that torque pushing the truck onto the log

There's another post of a similar subject, but it was a Jeep and the log came more into the drivers seat. Does this mean in addition to helmets we need to start wearing cups?

I believe it.  I have a friend that did almost the same thing.. but it was through the windshield and went splat into the center of his passenger's seat (behind the driver) - went between the front seats into the middle of the rear driver's bucket seat.. There were 3 people in the 4 seater rig... the seat it hit was thankfully empty.  But in the dark you just don't see it coming.. truck starts to bog down a little bit, give it a little more gas and then wonder why it won't go anymore :doh:
