Today i was trying to get out of a ditch and ended up snaping the pinion gear in the from axle.  My truck only has 40k on it.  Will waranty take care of this?

Just kidding man. I guess there is, its your bed

My guess would be no as the axle was probably bound up and the break was driver induced. But ya might as well ask, worst thing that can happen is they say no.

I say no also, but try it.  The shop in front of my work has done one or two of those jobs. (Super Poopy with 35s, chipped and stock gears=BOOM)

No, your warranty is done.  If you have an extended warranty, I doubt that they would cover it.

I don't think it covers axles.  It only covers the engine and I think maybe the transmission.

LOCKEDRUNNER

Factory warranty is for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The diesel warranty is 5 years or 100,000 miles with a $100.00 Ded. If your lifted and have oversized tires and have extended warranty the warranty company may send out a inspector. If not in stock condition they will not cover the repair.

MiniSimp

You never know until you try; I broke my front driveshaft wheelin in my Dakota on 35's took it back to the dealer (after I pressure washed the undercarraige), they fixed it for free!

FIREBALL

What size tires are you running? and did you have the hubs manually locked or were you using the switch inside only? Just curious because i've had my hubs unlock and lock again at times when just using the auto mode.

Totally forgot i posted this...any ways ford ended up paying for 70% of it.  I guess a carrier bearing failed and caused the diff to bind against the pinion and BAM, theres goes the pinion.  Cost me just under $500 ford payed around a grand and i kept the pinion gear.

Im totally stoked cause my truck has 35's on it with a chip, exhaust and intake.  I guess the dealer ship said none of that matters unless they tell ford and they didnt.
