Topic: what do you do when you can not sleep?

Allright i can not sleep (insomnia) this is a pretty normal thing for me but i was wondering what other people do who have the same problem. I can only do so much to my truck at 3 am ( neighbors call the cops when i am up grinding and welding at this time) so let me know!

i turn the t.v. to the infomercials, those knife and coin sets do a good job at knocking me out.

i've tried that and everything else(incuding medication) nothing helps i just have to deal with it!

have you tried reading? keep it simple like an old comic book you know by heart, keeps the brain from thinking. that's usually my problem when i can't sleep, too much on the brain.

I have very bad insomnia.

I either take a benedryl. Antihistimine is a sedative. It knocks me right out and the dr. said it is perfectly safe to take as often as you need.
Or melatonin works for me too and is also perfectly safe. That is the hormone that controls our sleep patterns. I think us with insomnia don't have enough of it, or it isn't working when it's supposed to.

depends on how much energy i have. sometimes i'll go do some wrenching, maybe go for a cruise on my motorcycle (when its warm), get on the internet, play some video games or watch a movie. or i'll get a bite to eat, helps me out. (something like milk and cookies)

You know me Jason,I'm usually up till about 1:30-2 am.I just got used to going to bed at that time.I usually just surf the net.I go on just about every board,LOL I think that's why my post count is what it is

i know the feelin man, 3-4 nights a week i cant fall asleep. when i was working and going to school in midland i'd go 2-3 nights a week without any sleep.

Well for me anyway, if i cant sleep and I go on the internet, play video games, watch TV etc it actually stimulates me more and keeps me awake. best bet for me is to read a book or a magazine or something. if that doesnt work then

watch the church channels... i usually wake up to those bastards mumbling about something or another. then watch movies or lay and look at my ceiling and think about space and time travel and all that fun stuff
