do they have a gear chart somewhere that gives reccomendations on gearing and tires?

From what it seems like personal preferance is the way to judge?

there are tire size/ratio calculators

http://www.4lo.com/4LoCalc.htm

I put in my old tire size (33), new tire size (36) and old gear ratio (4.88). It said I need 5.32 gears

Thats cool, I put mine in and it said I need 5.58.  I think its interesting that it basses it off of the origional tire size. So I guess its desighned to just keep a simular feel?

actually, for it to work correctly, you need to put in your STOCK gears and STOCK tire size (this would be the original ratio)

so, if you had 29" tires stock and 4.10s and wanted to step up to 36" tires...you would need 5.08 gears

And having gas spooge out all over your leg so you have to go all the way home and change... Yeah thats happened.

Im hoping its okay cause i think the bolts stripped out but they wont come out or go in so i dont think theyre goin to go anywhere but well see. Youll love how i did it. I had to extend one of the straps about 2 11/16" so i cut and spliced it in and welded it together... looks haggard but youd really have to look hard to notice.

Oh and to make it better out of all the trucks ive owned i dont have to sit there and hold it in the filler neck! It stays on its own, hella sick tight
