Hey Guys!  I would be interested in Going to Flatnasty as well.  I'm not sure who is who here based in your forum names but Victor pointed me to this website.    What is the scoop for New Years Day?    I know of a few FJ80's going down there on the 29th too.  Also have any of you considered washita off road park in Farmington?
ive heard washita is bad ass. I would like to make a trip down there in January sometime too.... Victor said the bronco club is gonna be there New years day and I think there are some other guys from some informal toy club or something are coming down

You can look through the midwest and midrivers Jeep dorks website and find some pics.  The cool thing is that its just over an hour drive from St. Louis

With the suggestions of the fella looking after the park for Ron and Sheila I put my name in for a 4 bedroom 1 1/2 bath  mobile home, with 5 beds.

You got balls! I remember the looks of the trailers off of the highway on the way there last year. I would rather sleep in the room with all the snakes from Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark than in any of those trailers!

Ok now i'm scarred. I don't rember any of that, in Jadwin. I do rember some pretty freaky looking creedence type stuff on the drive there though. Its definately backwoods. We always take our own covers if we are unsure of where we are staying, atleast that way we have a barier from whatever was there before us. I'd much rather just pitch a tent, but I'm married and she won't have it, in the middle of winter.

Here are the ftoys from Memphis, driven by John, and James, of Alpine Auto. I didn't get verry good shots of Johns rig, but the blue one belongs to Hobie. John said it was gonna be in his possesion for a couple seasons while hobie is busy at a new job.

You can definately tell in this pic that DTB's springs have settled into a nice functonable ride height.

This seemed to be the theme for the weekend. My advice to you is even if you have your build completed don't take it out for extreme wheeling unless you know all the bugs. We completed the build on this rig(lots to change) bled the brakes and loaded it on the trailer, after testing to see if the 4wd worked in the yard. Then it was one little thing after another all weekend. I didn't feel confortable taking him along on the hardest trails with a large group so for the most part we hung out just the 3 of us arkie boys as to not hold everyone up.
Just after Lance broke the driver birf on a obistacle I was last in line and I proceded to spin and claw around, just enough to get fustrated. Without thinking I hit the gas, and came bouncing up the ledge. We pulled Lances rig up to the top of the hill to find the upper trunion bearing exploded into a milion chunks. The race was still intact, but with no trunion bearing we were screwed. Snakeeyes gave up the knuckle rebuild kit that he was gonna buy from DTB and Lance went getting his rig back to gether.
When the trunion bearing bit the :pokinit: the inner part of the bearing was stuck on the arm. He had to take the arm and a grinder that Jeff had and go down to the office to grind just a little on the arm. When returning the new bearing would not fit on the arm. It seems the trail gear arms had a slight oversize to them. We spent about 30 mins with a file and sandpaper till the trunion bearing fit the steering arm.
Finally we headed back to our cabin for some Grub only to find the alternator on Lances rig crapped its pants. We grabbed a bite to eat and a spare from John and used the shop at Bartons Lodging to swap it out. then headed back to meet DTB, Oldskool and the gang at the campground. We decided to run the creek bead quickly lined up and headed out. Not even 200feet down the creek bed while climbing a small climb, I hear a loud bang, promply get out to check it out, but I cant see anything. I continue back down into the creekbed only to come to the realization that I must have sheared the teeth of the front ring gear, and that ended my weekend, of wheeling. Luckly for me it was the last trail I would have seen that weekend anyhow.

It was great wheeling with yall, what little we did get to do. I can't wait till next time!  :beerchug:
