Sweet. So does the elevation vary a lot at the high lakes? Or is it pretty much the same amount of snow throughout the entire area?
The elevation does vary some, and in the early part of the season there have been times when there isn't any snow until you get quite aways in.  However once winter gets going(no warm storms), you are usually in the snow from Inskip(Paradise side) or Butte Meadows(hwy 32 out of Chico) all the way in.

Based on what the TNF ski-resorts recieved from teh last storms, the trail into Eagle lakes should have about 3'-4' of snow on it now, and should make for a good run if no one has ran it.

Any man, in the right situation, is capable of murder. But not any man is capable of being a good camper.....So, murder and camping are not as similar as you might think.

Some men are alive simply because it is against the law to kill them.

itll give me time to let my mouth stop swelling, and get some minor details and kinks worked out

bolus131

I think the snow run should be a weekend where its not snowing or raining.  I will let you guys know how the snow is when i get back saturday to let you guys know if it will be worth going or not.  Right now there is no tracks going to spring valley yet.  The top of the snow is good but once you get under the top of the snow its all powder and it sucks.

yeah i hear its been poopy, but todays snow should be a little wetter..... i think that lower elevation snow will be good, im thinkin about stayin at a lower altitude if i go instead of goin straight up like everyone else does, i usually have more fun because nobody really does that, and theres no jeeps stuck every 50 feet

why do you want wet snow? its heavier and harder to push

the dryer the fluffier the easier to get through.... thats how it is with snowboarding at least
