UPDATE 

So I got the steel for my front driveline last week.
1/4" thick 
I also double drilled kyles old flanges he gave me,
Im gonna slap those on the front third and the transfer case, I already have one out back.

On a bad note, i seem to have bent my tie-rod... 
More on that later...

Just to keep you guys happy, Ill post some pics n stuff..
Heres a couple of my front housing pre-sas.
I cut out the bottom and plated it all with 5/16's steel
Can you say bulletproof!
I gained roughly 3/4 of an inch or so...
Not much, but every little bit helps, plus its a hole lot smoother now..
