Why did the driver stop for the guy and then refuse to give him a ride.  Don't get me wrong this guy is a idiot but why would the driver stop.

I don't think they were implying that the driver stopped on the freeway and then refused the guy.  I think they meant that while he was stopped in town (berkeley) that the man approached him and wanted a ride.  That's what I understood from it... :dunno:

I can't beleive that no one saw him on the back of the truck let alone seeing him fall off. Something else that doesn't make sense is about 100 yards (if not less) before he fell off, they are doing construction & the lanes are narrowed from 5 down to 2, speed limit is 55 mph. This whole story is Darwin  :smack:

I didnt see it here but  newstalk radio said from the point he first hit the pavement after falling to the point were the CHP covered him up was over one thousand feet
