2wd truck, rear diff is ok.

4wd truck, front and rear diff mandatory, unless you like breaking things.

Here's some more information:

i've pretty much always had a four banger toyota with 33s. i want to run 35s on my Trekker, and i don't want any noticable loss of power. I'm ordering a Weber carburetor and k&n intake, and i wanted to gear it as well. it's going to be a daily driver so street manners is taken into heavy consideration, but off the pavement i want a capable gear ratio as well.

i've heard another way to regear to accomodate for larger tire size is to leave the diffs alone and upgrade the t case to a lower geared one. what would you marlin guys do to achieve what i want with this truck, somewhat on the cheap?

Gearing the t case won't do anything on road with the larger tires. You need to have the axles regeared.

Diff gears for street--5:29's F & R

Dual cases or single case with 4:70's--for off-road

Myself I would go with the dual cases, more low gear options

regear the front and rear axles.  Both of them.  If you only regear the rear, you're 4wd will be worthless.  For 35"s, I'd recommend at least 4.88s, but personally, I'd go with the 5.29s

im slingin 5.29's on 33's w/ dual cases all by marlin. 35's and 5.29s will be lower than stock but id rather crawl than hawl any day.
