Her assertion that she isn't guilty...because no one saw her do it is just as crazy.

I believe they have ways of detecting where they came from. Everything carries a trace on it if you know how to look for it.

For the record, there is no "shared" or otherwise copywrite infringed info on my hard drive, my roomate's might be a different story, and since the internet bill is in my name, I need to question.

Abnormal,  I keep seeing black suv's and helicopters around my area too, but i've seen those for years  :hammer:

I don't think it has to do with who 'owns' the internet but who owns the harddrive on which the songs are.

Having music on your computer is not illegal.
Downloading your CD's on your own computer is not illegal (it's considered a "Back-up copy".
Downloading music to your computer is not illegal if you paid for it or if it is freely distributed by the artist or record company.

Letting others download music from your computer is illegal! That is where they get ya.

$12 bucks per month is what I pay for XM. The only reason I used to buy CD's is cause I didn't like trying to find radio stations when I went on trips. Now I can drive acroos the country & don't even have to change the station.

The only reason you have to rally worry, is if you are sharing your files. or do no "disconnect" when you're not using. You cant be dumb about it.
For example, College Campus' you got to be really careful, they target campus's like crazy because they all download music, and its really easy to track.

This case is so rare, because she is a Single mother, they like getting college students, and masss downloaders, people who download music to sell it, and people who ahve 100,000's of songs..
her case is like ebing struck by lightning!

They are just making an example of her. Actually, they have got a lot more, but they settle, as per the article, for a couple thou... this was the first one that went to trial.. she thought she could beat it.. she didn't ...
