Allright guys i've got a question. At the moment i don't want to sped the time completely fixing and bedlining my floor (not that its that rotten) and i was thinking of grinding down the rusty a bit and spraying on black paint so when the time comes for me to really fix it it won't be as hard to get off as say por 15. suggestions?

halfxspaid

Get a flap disk or wire wheel and take some of that rust down as much as you can.
I would suggest then spraying it clean with some carb-cleaner and spraying some rustoleum on it.

Then throw a summitracing $100 new carpet down and call it good.
85 longbed - Caged, locked, dual'd and armored

Oh and congrats on the w56 swap!  I did it and it was the best mod so far!

How did you drill the big hole for the master?  I muscled some hole saw in there from the engine side.  :gap:

I don't know. I've never had to deal with rust like that.

I took my whole dash out 4runnerrick style, and then slammed a holesaw through from the inside out. the holes i drilled for the studs were bigger that the spacers and i was crapping my pants thinking I drilled the holes way off lol.

Don't want to put a carpet back in, if my floor is going to rot I atleast want to see it  :cheese:. jokes aside that is what made it start to rot. there was a small drill hole (i think for the plastic that goes on the inner front wheelwell where water (nasty bad salty water) was geeting in and then is soaked into the carpet and sat there. That and coolant, i got a new heater core to go in before i put my dash back together too.

I got some Duplicolor bedliner in a rattle can at work today. i tested it on a scrap piece of metal, pics will be up soon.

I know this question has been asked in a bunch of different threads but what wires do i need to put together to "trick" the computer to think its in neutral and what ones to make reverse lights work?

Wet

Dry (it really has the same texture as when its wet, picture just sucks)

I am going to test out its durability  tomorrow once its completely dry.

Dude, let me go see real quick. I vaguely remember doin' that when we first swapped a manual into this truck, but I don't remember where it was.

tom w.

Sorry dude... I have absolutely no idea how I got it to work.

It is a plug located under the intake.  Its a round plug that has three wires, two larger and one small.  You unplugged this connector when you dropped the auto.

You need to connect the two thick wires together.  I think they are both black.

3WM - Im not sure what your asking?  What I described is the only wire you need to hook up to bypass the neutral safety switch.
There are wires there involved in reverse lights and 4wd indicator lights that I am not familiar with.  If anyone knows, post up!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I went to change my heater core on yesterday and after an hour of trying to get it out (i thought i could sneak it out without taking the whole black box out) i finally get it out and its perfectly fine  . So then i take a look and find that one of the tubes that runs through the fire wall has a nice split in it (so thats why the guy i bought it off of had the heater switch disconnected). I made an emergency run up to my aunts house where my parts trucks live, and had the whole thing disassembled and out in about 5 minutes, although the dash was already out.

Today I put my new heater core in, just in case. I don't want to take that apart again anytime soon. and got all heater related stuff back in.

Tomorrow i plan on

1. wire wheeling all the rust spots in the cab and spraying rust converter on  them.

2.Bedlining the portion behind my pedal assembly so i can put it back in.

3. cutting holes out my floor for the w56 and maybe putting it in after i clean up the crossmember.

This is why my truck doesn't go in the garage. My dads car (can anybody guess what it is)

Thanks guys,
It was certainly an adventure finding that pedal. the other 2 pedals are beinginstalled tomorrow for the last time. I didn't get feet ones of them because it would be a little excessive but i did order 2 new pedal pads from Toyota $5 a piece (remember I'm in Canada so prices on everything are different. usually more  ). I don't know if i work tomorrow but i hope to get the pedals in regardless. Tranny tunnel cut and tranny in if I'm lucky.
