wont matter when hubs are not locked but you are going to hate it when you have to turn when you are in 4wd :muscles:

Pick up that axle & get a locker & gears for the front. Use the welded one as a spare in case something happens  :yesnod:

being locked in the front is awsome when wheeling..but it does suck when your in a tight spot, and have to go left or right. ESPECIALLY in the rocks. selectable for the front is the way to go imho

i have a welded 5.29 set up in the rear and aussie in the front. no power steering still so its a bit tuff.

id run the welded in the rear...the 8inch diffs are the same front and rear. aussie or lockrites are cheap run them in the front...i could the problem of breaking birffs with welded front...i could be wrong

but im runing aussie front welded rear and im very happy. front locker is KILLER on the trail.

I would run it if you had ps. and maybe some longs so you dong really have to worry about breaking stuff.

I run mine welded front & Rear.  Before I had power steering I would sometimes have the passenger help me turn the steering wheel It was a pregnant dog!  I don't drive the truck on the road at all.

Take it out of the front and put it in the rear, take the rear and put it in the front, wipe hands.

i believe the welded wont be good daily in the rear.. CHirp Chirp Chirp like birds in the spring everytime you tried turning

so if it is your DD i'd keep the welded for a spare and run lockers but that aint cheap..

its not going to matter too much.  As long as you don't throttle through a corner, you won't hear anything.  It'd be fine for a DD, quite a few lockers don't even unlock when you turn either.

welded rears will chew your tires up a bit...Even with the detroit i had in my wrangler. The Jeep was so light, that thing hardly ever unlocked.  One of the things I worry abotu welding the rear of my yota...is switching lanes on the highway or something.  Will being welded in the rear affect that much? Or just chirping tires around turns/offramps

fatt_matt

it allows you to go through more tires if daily driven :)

When driving it you will only notice it when you turn a corner, you won't notice it changing lanes. The one important thing to remember though it tire size, you must always run the exact same size tires and manufacturer. It will get real interesting if you don't, this would include the same amount of tread use. If you have an old tire with very little tread and a brand new tire you will stress out just about every part in the rig.
