This evening I got a knock at the door around 9:30. I thought it was a bit odd having a visitor at this time of night especially on a sunday. I open the door to find two young men standing on my porch. I say hello and wait for a response. One of the young men says "Hey stranger" like he knows me. After a few awkward seconds of looking at him it hits me like a truck. IT'S MY SON!!! I nearly had a heart attack. Then I almost cryed (OK, I admit I let out a few tears). I haven't seen my eldest son in almost 7 years. Last time I saw him he was a teenage boy and now he has become a young man.

WOW! I'm stoked! Right now I'm so excited I hardly know what to say.

He fell off the face of the planet.  I tryed to find him but a few months later his mother moved too so I had no way to find him.

He hunted me down and apoligized and told me he wants to be my son again.

WOOHOO!!!!!

THAT is truely amazing, you sound like a great dad. Glad you got your son back!

My father lives 5 minutes away and I havn't seen him in a few years, he didn't even come to my wedding.

That's why I was a little suspicious at first, my bad.

Thankfully he found you!

Good story!  Congrats on your reunion. So...was the other guy a friend of his? Or did I miss that?

Hammerhead

Didn't even come to your wedding?  That's harsh dude...

My son and I were buddies.  He would come visit me (his mother and I divorced long time ago) and we always had a great time.  We would ride dirtbikes and stuff and he really loved his younger syblings (I remarried).

Can't wait to go riding again and do some wheelin' with him.

Yes, the other guy was a friend.  Same guy he was hangin' with before...  Nice kid.  Helped track me down...

Nice story. It's good to hear that you to got together.

Good deal man

My parents live about an hour away and I still don't see them too often.  I try and stop in after I go hiking.  I usually feel fine when I come out of the woods, but by the time I sit down in the truck and start driving I start to feel fatigue set in and decide to just keep driving home.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty stoked it ended up this way.  We'll be stayin' in touch this time for sure.
