Purchasing a clutch and bikini...
« on: Sep 09, 2007, 10:37:09 PM »
I am about to buy a clutch, solid diff spacer, sliders, and a bikini top for my 87 Runner VERY VERY soon and would appreciate any suggestions.

My Runner will push hopefully around 450 HP running 35's which I use for street, strip, and rocks.

I was about to get the 6 puck ceramic clutch but I hear that they are on or off. (even with 6 pucks) Is that the case.  I want a "better than stock" clutch if possible but I want to be able to control it and DD it.

My other big question is: Where the heck to purchase a bikini top for the 1st gen runners?  Downey has one that will probably work, but isn't there anywhere else that sell them?

There is a fine line between clever and stupid, I just wish I knew when I crossed it.

I built my own bikini top. The link to the thread is at the bottom of my post.

I got my bikini kit from the wabfab.org. and the soft top itself from 4wpw.
get the cj5 or Landcrusier soft top as they don't sell one for the 4runrs.

the kit from wabfab is the channel aka header bar, and the hoop for the rear to support between the header and the factory rollbar.

the kit is about $100 when I got mine in March and the top was about $45 or so.  And check 4wpw about different colors, I got a tan one to go with my tan /orange paint
