SAS kits
« on: Jul 19, 2007, 09:59:52 PM »
an AllPro kit comes with http://allprooffroad.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=42 and is $1,099

while the marlin one comes with http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/suspension/sas.htm and it is $250 more

they both do the same thing in the end, but which one is the better buy? or does it not even make a difference?

please give me your honest opinion, im gunna be doing a SAS on my 86 in two paychecks and want to know which is the better buy

I used the allpro kit i like their long travel springs but basically marlin and allpro use the same spring disturuter but go with the all pro kit. It also comes down to how your wallet feels

Trail-Gear = Chinese built parts.

I know you are a newb, but Trail-Gear's business ethics are highly questionable. Especially on this board.

TG's kit comes with a lot of parts, but in my opinion their knuckle rebuild kit is junk. It has no-name trunion bearings that fall apart. I broke an upper on the Dusy last year which also screwed up a 30-spline Long (Bobby warrentied it). When I got home and pulled the front end down, the upper and lower on the other side fell apart. Stick with a kit that has either Koyo or SKF bearings in it. I hate to say this but I think that the A-P kit has the best steering arms on the market today. That is just my opinion.

The Marlin kit comes with these parts. (Might be more)
1. Motor mount plates
2. New metallic brake pads
3. Spring pad spacer

The All-Pro kit didn't list these items.

I agree to a certain extent, you get what you pay for. I would recommend marlins stuff over allpro's. Marlin's customer service is awesome. I have never seen better service and his parts are quality.

Go on the web site and compare the two, be sure to click on the complete list of parts for the Marlin kit when you compare. An educated consumer is what you want to be, just don't look them over check ever part and see if one is better than the other. When you do this you will see why one is a bit more than the other, and that the differences are worth it.

my  :twocents: ....
i think marlin and allpro have quite similar kits and both crews are good to deal. however, marlins customer service and dedication....unmatched. marlin actually sets a new standard for customer service. read up, and check the pbb, there are some good posts about kits there too...
