How many times
« on: Jul 01, 2007, 02:18:15 PM »
Has your 22r header pipe (the pipe just after the manifold) broken???

Mine's cracked again, I've lost track of how many times I've had to reweld it where the 2 pipes merge to 1 pipe.....  (thinking this is about the 5th time)

Mine has the very short 2 pipe section;   did the older pipes that had the long 2 pipes before it merged have this problem?

nope,  other than the bracket just off the clutch bell housing (which I clamp to the pipe before tightening it to the bellhousing (wasn't this way originally, which probably cause the initial break)) every thing is in the rubber hangers.

Ground away the old welds (arc welder) and welded the $hit out of it with a MIG this time.

Hopefully this is the last time.......

I've never broken/seen one broken. I welded my exhaust from the header flange back. so in all reality it a 2 peice ehaust (the header) and (the piping).
Starting from scratch again...
