Hey guys,

I thought this would be a good idea, so I created a "Tech from our Forum Members" section on the "Online Tech Support and Installation Guides" section of our main website.

This section can be viewed through the following link:
http://www.marlincrawler.com/tech#forum

So far, since I was just on this thread earlier today, I have linked to 1 thread by Freds40 regarding Hydro Assist modifications.

I am looking for more worthy tech threads, which I know MANY exist, so if you have written a tech thread yourself or think one should be listed there, please reply here and I will decide if it will make it on our Online Tech Support and Installation Guides webpage!

Regards,
BigMike

Also this is a way to show thanks to our form members who have or are planning to spend time in taking pictures and writing a How-To thread to help benefit others

Thanks for the suggestion, but.....I don't know, I mean what is it about really? There are many project builds that could be linked, but for instance, my project has like 100 different things that I did, all dumped haphazardly into a 30+ page thread. If I move, out of the things I did, for instance installing an electric cooling fan, into its own separate thread entitled "How to install an e-fan" and I provide clear and precise instructions with step-by-step illustrations for the job, then yes, I think I would link that new thread to this new list.

So that is what I am more interested in. The Mammoth is an awesome build with plenty of knowledge. If Mark would like some of his hard work featured on the new "Tech from our Forum Members" section, then I would rather prefer him to separate out the things that he did into individual threads with clear step-by-step instructions............etc

Might as well just put up a PDF copy of the FSM for an 85 pickup.

i dont have the capability to host a pdf file... the file itself is pretty big. i have tried to email it to people and dont have that ability either, its too large....

it is easily found online through a number of sources, i just posted screenshots up of them, and those are hosted on my picture server

Maybe you might want to split some threads into seperate build catagories that way you don't just post a generic build thread of someones complete buildup. Of course that'll take forever to do.

Bigmike, do you want me to do a MC10 writeup with pics?  I've got my thread, but theres a lot of :bull crap: in there, and a lot of other random pics/questions  included in it.  I can clean up the writeup, and put all the pics together if you'd like :dunno:

QuoteBigmike, do you want me to do a MC10 writeup with pics?
Well...... There are others that have done write-ups, such as the MC09 write up by mojavehanna (http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=32501.0) that I STILL!!!!  have not put online yet.

These type of installs are better off being checked for accuracy and posted up as Main MCI Install Guide. The "Tech from our Forum Members" is more or less tech that is not something that we at MCI would need to do as an Install Guide.

To be honest, I am busy doing other things right now that do not include 1) New Product or 2) New Install Guides, both of which we desperately need to put online. Having said that we are in "desperate need" of these and that I am not doing them, must mean that I am working on something else that is even better  :lipsrsealed:

CruzrDave and I have already made plans to come down on Sundays and make more install guides that are as professional as our 470 guide. This will be done later this summer/fall.

BigMike

The question here is what in this build would benefit others. I mean this is all custom for a specific purpose and may not pertain to any other rig.

BTW, Mike I am flattered you said "awesome build". I know how you like to joke around.  Thanks.

Mark, I don't believe it's just a matter of specifics with your build.  I'm sure lots of people would like to see your work even to get ideas that could be translated to their specific project using your build and ideas as an instrument for the courage to try  :yesnod:. I applaud your humbleness , but I say put it up for all to see. You have a great rig and should be proud to own it as many here would be to own such a rig.  :usa: Just my  :twocents:

So what about an alternator rebuild?  Not the bearings, but I just replaced the brushes on my 91 because it'd stopped charging and it turns out it's really simple and cheap!  I took pics of most steps for myself but could do a quick writeup if anybody's interested.
