MC07 or MC08 w/10 degree rotation?
« on: Jun 05, 2007, 01:44:45 PM »
Hi all,
I have a 1992 Pickup with the 22RE and I have a couple plans for it, one of which is involving duel cases..

Is it really a huge gain to have the extra 1-3/16" of clearance? (does it hang down really that low? I haven't really checked/compared)

I am about to order the adapter but I am stuck as to which I should get. In the end I am going to have a solid front with either 4 or 5".. not sure if 5 would be too much. (I guess you can never have too much right??? until its flopped... )

Does having it rotated cause issues with the driveline? I know I will have to modify the drive shafts by just adding the crawl box, but with the rotation will I need to rotate the pinion at all  or anything funny like that?

Any info would be great, experiences, regrets.. anything like that.

Thanks

I've been running the MC08-R10 and love every inch of extra clearance. It also brings your front driveshaft up and out of the way a little more (not much)
The best part is the clearance. :twocents:

Hmm well it is very tempting... thats for sure..  What kind of lift/height are you running? (or anyone for that matter.)

I'm running a 3/4" lift.

You know, that is a great idea.. Honestly it was a long day yesterday and I didn't see that the mc7 had a r10 version... I think I am going to order that one up today.

I'm running a 3/4" lift.

Really you're only running that small of a lift from stock? I was thinking that when I go with the SAS I would get either a 4" or 5" since those were the options listed no?

Well, since my spring packs are  home built I don't have an X" lift number for ya.

The suspension height difference between my truck and BigMike's truck is I am 3.25" lower than him and he is running a 4" Marlin lift, so I'm calling mine a 3/4" lift.

Ahh ok, that makes sense... If I had some free time and spare packs/leafs I might consider making my own.. I just lack both right now so I think the 'kit' might be the best way to keep the project moving.. and the pocket empty.. ;)

Don't know for sure, but i have heard there are mounting problems with the rotated. Have to use the FROR type crossmember. There was another post on here someware about it.

Yes, you can use the FROR crossmember and bolt it up, or you can use the FROR center section and build your own, or you can just fab your own from scratch. :yesnod:
