I'm going to look at a set of 5.29 gears for an 8" Toyota. He says they're new never used still in the box. I want to know how many teeth are on the ring & how many teeth are on the pinion. I don't want to buy these with out knowing & find out they were re-boxed with different gears.

Divide the number of teeth on the ring by the number of teeth on the pinion and you should get 5.29 ratio. Not sure how many are on the ring, but the pinion should have 7 which makes the number on the ring about 37

It should be stamped on the side of the ring gear...

Thanks, I just didn't want to buy them & find out they are 4.10 or somthing I didn't want.

totally understandable. Just do the divison, and you'll be fine. Just make sure you don't double count some teeth, or don't go all the way around!!
