what width rim with your 37 mtr?

I was wondering what width rims you guys are running on your 12.50 width tires? I am hoping to get some 37 inch mtr's and im not sure whether ro get 8 or 10 inch wide rims? Thanks

I have 10" rims with my mtrs and I run 5psi wheelin in snow and in rocks and I have never blown a bead.

I have always run 15x8s. Not on 37s yet but my friend has run two sets of 37x12.50 MTRs on 15x8s for over two years now and hes never had problems, and he usualy runs his tires at 4-8 psi.

it depends on what look you want. because people will go back and forth all day long teling you why one way or the other is beter. 15 for diamiter and 8'' for a naroer tall look and 10'' for a wide look, i got 15x10 because it gives you a little bite more of a foot print on the ground, and if ya got on bord air lusing a bead isnt a big deal it's jist a little bit of a b___h

you guys say that its easyer to break a bead with 10" wide rims, but running a wider rim it widens the tread and gets a little bit bigger foot print so you can run more psi with the 10 and get the same traction. im not stating that its just a thought

You make a good point but... A 12.5 tire on a 8 inch wheel will have more sidewall and with lower air pressure conform to the ledges and edges on rocks. I'm currently running bias 36 13.5 on 8'' wheels, and have considered using some 10" wide rims. I'm not unhappy with my 8 inch wheels though.

I used to have 15x8s on my MTRs (37" ) and never had any problems at all

Does anyone make 15x9 wheels? I would prefer to run those instead of my 15x10s right now (not on MTRs though)

It would also be nice to take a 15x8 and beadlock it, which would make it a 15x9

15X8's if using on rocks because you will beat up 10's.

I have never seen a 15x9 but it wouldnt surprise me if there are some oddball rims out there that come in that size. probably nothing you'd want to run on a crawler though (think bling bling)

Welding on a beadlock seems like the best solution

I ran 8", a friend ran 10".   MTR's hold a bead great on either.  If I had it to do over, I would have gone 10" for the extra width.

as a former tire guy, we generally tried to keep a 4 inch differance as a rule of thumb

so 12.5 sould be 8.5, they dont make the so 8 is great

on my 13.5s im runnin 9 wide wheels

those "some shops" are retarded.i managed a les scwabb and this is what we went by. and we would mount the tires on just about anything regardless of width as long as it held air

funny you say that, local scwabb has been kinda hard to deal with. Wouldn't dismount a tire that had a tread gash in the face, but not into the cords.  Pretty much told me to go home and use some pry bars to dismount it.   They have had a few too many screw ups here though.

i beleive it, they are all different...and hard to deal with, thats why im a "former"
