Chain TCase- grinding noise
« on: Apr 27, 2007, 09:56:20 AM »
I have a grinding noise from my Tcase when in 4x4. I removed the front driveshaft and rotating the flange I can feel a bad bearing or chain. How to proceed? may I open only the rear cover or do I need to remove from tranny and completely disassembly? pics of the case http://caiquemacedo.spaces.live.com/?_c11_BlogPart_handle=cns!CCE3F9303132E9B5!211&_c11_BlogPart_BlogPart=blogentry&_c=BlogPart&_c02_owner=1
I'm located in southern Brazil

thanks in advance

it looks like you have a faorward shift T/C so you will need to remove the sifter for the T/C an then pull the T/C. that seems like the best way it would by a bi$#@ to do that with it still in the truck an there are some detent balls no the output shaft that you don't want to lose under your truck.
