Help with Steering Knuckle Arm PLS
« on: Apr 14, 2007, 04:53:52 PM »
Hello,

I have an '84 LN65 Hilux. I'm trying to remove the steering knuckle arm or 'J arm'. So far I've removed the drag link and tie rod as well as the four bolts that hold the arm to the knuckle plus the tapered cones. I can wiggle the arm back and forth and side to side and have lifted it about 1/8th inch but it wont come out.

Is there anything else I need to undo or remove before this arm will come off?

Thanks,
Matt.

So does it sound like I've undone everything I should? I just took another look at it and I can wiggle it up and down. It seems like it wants to come off but also seems like something is still holding it on.

Thanks again.

I got it! The thing is off. Thanks guys. I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes to whacking things just in case I break something. I gave the arm a few solid hits and she just bumped off.

Thanks guys, very muchly! :-) :-)
