Jason do you ever drive it on the street any more?  I was wondering the handleing characteristics after the complete suspensions f/r.

No I don't drive on the street especial with the red label crawlers.

Well I figured you wouldn't drive it on the street with the red labels but I didn't know if you have driven it at all to see how it might handle.

locktup

When I hauled ass back to camp going through the desert it handled fine.

I'm back from Moon Rocks and all busted up. I only was out for 30 minutes before I broke a cromo rear shaft, T-Case mount, front cardon joint and took a good chunk out of my adapter. Thats all I can find now but I'm going to pull the front end apart and make sure I didn't break anything up there.

nice job ace!!!! wheres the pics?

locktup

I was running up Butt Crack and almost made it to the top and my rear axle broke. So I backed down took it out of crawl. Put it in second gear and hammered it. I got half way up and then things went really bad. I will post what few pictures I have later.

I had a set of 60's ready to go. But I had this brilliant idea of making these pain in the ass axle housings.

KEEP IT CLEAN PEOPLE!!! :bat:

This what I know for sure is broken. Rear Ring & Pinion, right rear axle shaft, left rear axle shaft has very small twist, front cardon joint, cross member is cracked around some welds and right rear brake caliper is leaking out of the piston.

4.88's are still the bomb

I went through the rear third member. Washed all of the bearings out. A couple of very small nicks in the ring gear. It looks like the nicks were caused by the broken axle pieces floating around. The gear is not chipped. I'm going to go ahead and run it. I'm sure it will be fine. If not then it will break. I am tired of dropping money into this turd. And I'm tired of not being able to wheel it  :rivers:.

Sorry to hear about the breakage!  Maybe 39" tires are more trouble than they're worth w/ toy running gear.  Looks like I missed the cut-off for the Rubithon sign-up anyway.  We'll have to get together and do a smaller/lower key run soon.
