So yesterday I was at a birthday party enjoying myself... of course it was a birthday party for a 5 year old... and after eating much pizza I was thinking of heading to the restroom..  to get some rest of course.. when I looked out the window and saw my truck moving... at first I was like what the heck... my truck is moving?? Then at an instant I realized that my truck was being stolen right in front of me! We jumped up and ran outside as it was being stolen.. the guy hit a dumpster as he was backing out in a hurry and took off and I watched my 4Runner drive down the street in a huge hurry! I couldnt believe.. my truck just got stolen!
I was on the phone with 911 as it was happening... but in less than a minute my truck was out of site... the police got all my info and just told me they have to wait for it to surface...

So I went to my grandpas later to get a car to borrow when I got a call from a police officer saying that he had found my truck!

chim

So I had just put new locks in.. which didnt help, because they just popped the side window... and jacked the ignition...

chim

This was the other damage.. I guess it could have been worse!

I've seen that custom dashboard look way too many times.

At least you got your :pokinit: back in decent condition, you got really lucky. :yesnod:

Glad you got it back, you're lucky.

Too bad you didn't the chance to "talk" to the thief.

I had someone try to steal my little '87 2wd when I was in the middle of putting an engine in it.  The ECU, battery, intake tube, radiator were all in the shop and  I came into work one day to find my door open and my ignition (steering column) broken.  I'm gonna  bend up some little metal plates and Jb weld them around the door rods/inside door panel to make it harder to slim jim.

I would have loved to have been close enough to actually catch him! Thinking back now, Im wondering why we didnt get into another car and chase.. but when this sort of thing is happening its so fast you really dont think about it all...

But I do have fantasies of ripping the guy out of the front seat and laying a smack down..

MrsMiniSimp

Sorry to hear about your run in with a moron, glad you got your truck back.

I was 8 months pregnant when someone stole our thousand dollar CD/DVD player out of our 4 Runner (not as bad as the whole car) but I imagined the same thing but probably a little more violent!! :bash:  Pregnant ladies can get pretty mad!

thats so gay, good thing you got it back though.  Im so worried about my truck being stolen since I built it up.

Kill switch is now a necessity!! Maybe even an alarm system....

But the truck was in plain site.. thats the only reason I caught it being stolen!

I was thinking about the proximity alarm.. but I was worried with the cats in the neighborhood setting it off all the time.. but it sure would be nice in the summer with the top off..

That sucks! sorry to hear that...

Update: I have to say, I am very pleased with State Farm Insurance. They had a guy come estimate the damage yesterday, and after 20 minutes in his van on the computer he had a check for me to cover all the damages! Awesome!

you got lucky man, same thing happened to me when i was 17 with my 85 xtra cab, but they did alot more damage....insurance cut me a check large enough to buy an lc engineering stroker motor though :eyebrow:

Thats awesome.. I wish I could have seen the guy better who took my truck..  it happened so fast and he was gone.. but I do have fantasies of dragging him out and pounding on him..

He stole my book bag with my bibles and teaching material for church.. so maybe he will read them.. haha!

rude86
