I've started building my 85 4Runner, and I've come to a point where I'm not sure what to do next.  This is what I have done so far.  86+ rear axle, front 1.5" wheel spacers, FJ60 brake rotors, IFS brake calipers, extended break lines.  4.30 gears front and rear (stock gears out of an 85 4runner with an automatic) Marlin crawler rear bumper.  I have a U-bolt flip kit for the front.  I have $900 dollars to work with and I'm not sure what to do, I'd like to keep about 200 of it.  I'm thinking either Cross over steering or I can get an E-locker with 4.30 gears for $600.  So my question is what should I do?  (I want a selectable locker because it is my daily driver.)

I vote, go out and wheel it and then decided what you want to do next base on what it can and can't do!  Depending on what type of wheeling you do can dictate what you need to buy next.

I have 31X10.5 Goodyear MTR's they have about 1500 miles on them.  My goal is to stay low but to flex well, right now with stock steering I have 26" of articulation.

If your happy with the stock steering and 31" tires, dual ultimate crawler with an aussie locker in the front and a welded rear would make a killer combo for close to $900

welding in the rear, your tires are locked together and you will go through tires quick. + it is your dd, so i am sure you will put more road miles on it then trail miles. I put a lockrite in the rear on mine and it works great, I am running 35's. My truck is my dd also and I didn't want to weld the rear for tire purpose's, tires are pricey. just a thought!
