Nice, good thinking on Summit's part with covering both bases, one tool for people with too much hair, and one for people with too little hair. Why don't more auto parts come with random unrelated free products??

8-26-08 frame plating / rim painting

cut that plate that goes on the inside of the frame rail... c-channel is designed to flex, you made a stiff spot, aaand you welded it, looks like stick...its gonna crack at those edges of the plate...you created a stress point and the heat from the welds weakened that spot....  just a heads up.... by the looks of it, you could just torch them out, since you have a lot of room...

i watched a buddy's c-10 break at the 1/4 mi, plated the same way you did yours, launched it, with a small block and broke the right rail...plated it the way i wanted to, just as you did on the outside, now it has a blown big block and flexes just fine.....yes its a drag truck, but if youre gonna wheel this thing, your frames gonna be under a LOT more twisting... just tryin to save you from a few problems down the road

pretty badass build tho man :thumbs-up:  you gonna name it a suburolet...or chubaru??  haha

Or he could box the whole frame in. That would work too. Make the suspension do what its supposed to do: flex. Most of my friends drive chevies/GMCs and every one of them has a cracked frame from flexing too much.
