Marlin Kit

Is the marlin full suspension kit worth it? It seems to me to be a little pricey. I have been debating on how to lift my truck and it just seems to me that it is expensive for the whole kit, I know you get every thing minus the steering box but 2000 after shiping and tax, man.

Or you can do the junkyard lift which can yield awesome results and its "your" kit not a bolt on deal.

I just bought pieces here and there for mine until it was complete....or course ten grand later I have the marlin catalogue but who keeps track anyway???

I think Paradise is not TOO far from Fresno, you can make a road trip if that saves on shipping...not sure what CA gas prices are these days.

just do 5" lift blocks front and rear or 5" body lift. way cheaper :thumbs:

:nonono: :nope: :headshake: :slap:  NO lift blocks in the front. Blocks in the rear will cause excessive spring wrap along with other possible problems.


Not recommended to go with blocks.

BTW, more than 2" of body lift is bordering on unsafe too.

So did it make any difference buying it piece by piece? I wanna build it but it is hard putting that much money into it.

Really the kit he sells is well worth the money in my opinion.  You get quality parts and everything he sends you is HUGE! The picture doesn't do it justice buy any means.  If you look at any of the lifts for J**PS  they're cost just as much if not more and come with less parts.  The New Years sale including shipping came to just over 1600! Maybe  :turtle: will do it again next year.

It would be fun to costom make some shackels and hangers for Chev springs and rears up front but your still going to have to buy all the crossover steering stuff. MC just takes out all the work of trying to piece it together. :twocents:

As Fearofrunner said the marlin kit takes all the guess work out if making your suspension work. If you decide to go the cheaper route we can help, many of us have done it.

I am currently installing the Marlin SAS kit and I couldn't be happier having all the pieces ready to install. It's enough work already without having to research and find parts. But as mentioned you can do it cheaper if you look around.

I like having everything on the shelf waiting to be installed. Things just go smoother this way.

im buying my parts slowly, finding good deals on used parts as time goes by...i am only $1500 into my truck now and that includes the price of the truck! i think i'll be $2500 into it after the 22rte swap and high steer...

Yeah man to answer your original question...the majority of the guys I have ran into with yotas agree that its sometimes just smarter to pay up and buy the kit that is already proven to work and work well. If you like to tinker with stuff, and find out on your own then by all means... but if You want everything good to go right down to the frikkin cotter pins for the front tie rods (sent with the marlin kit) then look no further and pull out the Masta card and wait for Mr UPS.

A lot of guys up here (alaska) spent waaay too much time screwing with different springs, shocks etc... than actually wheeling. I used to feel like a totall lame a$$ for buying the easy route and the bolt on stuff, but im hindsight I dont regret it at all.

Do it right once and wheel the bejesus out of it
