Man you need to upgrade to 40's so you can put them 30 splines to work. If you do decide to split with them let me know I'll by them from you.

You you will be the first to know. Still want to take a look at that one link that you did.

Do you by chance have a 3/8 drive torque ratchet that I can use John?

I finally got my first run in on the 40's!!  4 other rigs and myself ran the Liberty trail in Independence.  Here's a couple of pics

I didn't get a chance to trim the front fenders so I just took them off rather than rub the snot out of them.  Truck ran great, no problems with the big tires!!  I also must have trimmed enough in the front and rear, I didn't get the tires to rub once.  That was also good news!

I don't think you've ever need to carry a spare or buy a spare 30 spline.  Most guys that run 30 spline Longfields end up carrying other spares like 3rd members, hubs, steering knuckles, etc....

Thanks!!  I've actually already got hydro assist installed, one handed turning all day last Saturday :)  Makes it nice at the end of the day, you don't feel beatup from muscling the steering around.  I'd highly suggest it!!

The only thing I need to do to it is add a larger reservoir.  My stock pump makes a ton of noise once the PS fluid gets hot.

I wouldn't suggest it.  I had a buddy in a Rubicon last year try (his front locker was no working for some reason) and he had a hard time getting past the gatekeeper / first set of rocks.  After running the trail, I'm glad he turned around when he did.  It gets tough fast.  If I run it, you could always hop a ride.

Carnage is one of those trails that is hard to get recovery rigs on if you break.  The entrance and exit are both tough.  I wouldn't suggest running it with stock birfields or small, bald tires (ask me how I know )  Be prepared to take a ton of damage to your rig and possible drivetrain damage.  It took 5 of us last summer 12 hours to complete the .9 mile trail.  We had multiple breaks that took quite a bit of time to fix (hard to find a flat spot to work under the rig).

I'm not trying to scare you off but it's a very tough trail and could end up being a very very long day on the trail trying to recover a broken truck.
