I like to see a Stock FJ Cruiser vs Stock Jeep Rubicon driven by top factory drivers.
Who do you think will win?

It sounds like he got in a pissing match with a buddy about which one is better and is coming up with an imaginary scenario to prove he is right. :blah:

truthfully, i would expect the rubicon to win.  with lower gearing and front & rear lockers.

I like to see this as a Petition Stock FJ Cruiser vs Stock Jeep Rubicon driven by top factory drivers.  Let the Toyota team Equip the Rubicon with the options/package they want and let the Jeep team Equip the FJ with the options/package they want because they will be driving the vehilce they just equipped. Let them compete on different events real world driving, trail driving and the usual vehicle testing that are done.

Well that scenario wouldn't cut it because if I were a the Toyota team I would under equip the Jeep and if I were the Jeep team I would under equip the Toyota, best way to run this test is to have the teams equip their own makes and also run them so no Hanky panky is involved. If I were on the Toyota team driving the Jeep it would take me all of 2 min. to bury the Jeep so it was out of the competition.

I think the only way it could be done is not to have each team set up a vehicle how they want, but to have set perameters like in racing.  If vehicle a gets lockers, vehicle b does too, and so on.

That being said, 2 totally different vehicles, apples and oranges.

How about which of the two would you rather own? I personally choose the rubicon because I love to drive along the beach and let the salty ocean breeze blow through my long flowing blonde hair.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

But what about A trac? A trac guys come on. The FJ Cruiser has A trac! Have you guys ever ridden with the FJ Trail Teams and listened to them preach about the amazing capabilities of the traction control on the FJ.

In a pure rock crawling setting, I'm sure the rubicon would win, 4:1, two lockers, solid axle front and rear... in my opinion the Toyota engineers spent too much time making the FJ soccer mom friendly, and not enough time going after the competition i.e. Jeep. I'd still buy one, but only as a daily driver.
