well we started this project about a year ago, the base is a 93 standard cab yota. my room mate, Cj, owns the truck. he got it with no motor and IFS. got a 22re and the trail flex kit from marlin and threw in dual cases. The rear already had a detroit in it and recently added the Arb in the front ran off a york.  Well about a month ago somebody desided to help themselves to all 4 bilstiens and the extended brake lines.

after that Cj thought this would be a good time to take the truck to the next stage.... truggy, exo and 3 link with fow air shox

here is what it looked like before any cutting started
stupid people shouldn't have kids.

the first day we got the bed off, the axle pulled and frame cut off...

day 2...
got the truss on the axle done, and a good start on the bed. hoping to get the rest of the bed finished tomorrow.

RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

shamb, I just skimmed through you build up and see that you have blewn shox, i havent seen too many other people with that problem. hopefully with not much wieght in the rear and a fairly light wheel and tire combo we should be ok. did you blow the shocks in the front or rear?

They'll probably be fine in the back but not on all four corners. It'll have major body roll unless you plan on doing the winch/pulley system.. which if your going to go that route you might as well buy coilovers.

I blew a rear driver because the valve's were positioned outward and it caught a mount (easy fix)

Blew a front driver the other day and have no clue how.. everythings in tact but its got massive blow by in the cylinder itself.. so i'd imagine its an o-ring..

i'd also go atleast a 2.5 in the back instead of the 2.0's

Btw majority of the parts on the Fox's aren't interchangeable like other shocks so i'd advise having spare everything on the trail incase one blows out.. it sucks driving out with it completely collapsed.

exo is done, I still have to put some more supports and bars on the bed. I will wait until we get the rest of the parts for the suspension from poly performance. got most of the stuff for the 3 link but some parts are on back order til next week. as soon as we get the rest of the parts i can mock up the rear and make sure the is no clearance problems with bed.  here some pics...

looks nice though u could have followed the body lines on the cab a little closer/smoother. especially near the front fender/bumper and top of the cab

the fenders are going to be cut to follow the tube. when he bought the truck they hacked up pretty good.

still waiting on the rest of the parts from poly performance but i got the gas tank mounts made and added a couple of bars across the bottom of the bed.

That bumper looks sick! How much for one shipped to oregon?

88Rokyoat

well this one was built right on the truck. it's tied into the shocks hoops too. it would be alot harder to build one to be shipped.
stupid people shouldn't have kids.

olivedrab85

I know I need to just stop being lazy and build one, my stock front has had it. Good work on it though I like the design.
