I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

the front looks stiff for how much weight its holding.  awesome flex in the back.  as said before...WHEEL IT! its gonna be fun to get it dirty for the first time! its a virgin.

Topar, super clean build, I can only hope to build my 4runner half as clean and well documented. I is good to see your son involved also, my son is 15 and my grandson is ten months old, I plan on posting as many photos as possible and I want to include them in the build like yourself.
Build question, the frame/tube frame paint you used any particular brand and does it require primer?
Some great ideas, hope you don't mind if I copy some of them, I'll continue to follow for inspiration, later. DanS
Wow, been looking at my 4Runner rust away too long, need some inspiration and here I will find it...!

85 Toyota 4Runner, solid axle, 22Re, original paint and graphics and not a straight panel to be found!

Thanks guys.  I am not sure how much weight is on the front.  It has a 350 in it.  One day I want to take it down to the local transfer station (Dump) and weigh it.  Just have not done it yet.  The paint is brush on rust oleeum ( spell  :willynilly: ) No you don't need to primer it.  I sanded off the old and then used paint brushes and rollers to put the new on.  This evening I will be taking a pressure washer to it since I finally wheeled it  The truck did great although I cut the left front tire, then changed the spare on it that I filled up on Friday and it was flat on sunday   The transfer case now has a big leak in it.  Thats okay I was wanting to put lower gears in it so I will be tearing it apart soon.  I took lots of pics. actually had one of the girls that was with us taking pics for me.  my memory card filled up and she still has it.  I have a few pics but I need to get my card back from her to post the rest.

This guy busted a bead on the rocks.  The rock coarse was not very good.  They only had a small amount of rocks and tried to make a long coarse out of them.  Everytime you would start to climb them the rocks would just roll.  Kinda sucked.

A buddy of mine Scott built this blazer and sold it about a year ago.  It was cool to see it again.  Nice blazer  :yesnod:

Here is a picture you guys have not seen before.  It is my truck sitting still but this time it is actually parked in dirt  :rofl2:

Tube buggy.  This was the only time I actually saw this truck being used.  I saw one time on the rock coarse then noticed it back on the trailer.  :headscratch:
