Intermediate shaft in with locking plate & gear identification plate.

Looks like everything is in.   :crossed:

topar

Comparing it to my other case to see if it looked right.  Seems good.

topar

Got the rear output on & checked by hand that everything shifted and spun correctly.  Seems good.

Now I just have to wait for my buddy Zac to finish welding up the aluminum adaptor & a warm day to sit out in the driveway & put it all back in.  It wont be this week its going to rain all day today & tomorrow.   :rain:

topar

Dropped off the old T case to Zac today so he can copy the bolt pattern on to the newly repaired adaptor.

topar

Finished the linkage for the new shift rails.

Got a movie for Cole at Northern Hardware cost a whopping 50 cent.

Hopefully have the adaptor soon & get this thing running again.  :crossed:

topar

Watched that movie with Cole before I came into work tonight.  You know there was a reason it was 50 cents.  Bad doesn't cover it.   :outtahere:

topar

Zac's new truck, 79 Long Bed.

topar

Got my adaptor back from Zac.

Not bad for a free-be.  a lot better than I could do.  I was a welder in the Navy for 4 years & never could weld aluminum for pooh.  :hammerhead:

topar

Bolted it up to the transfer case.

I will hopefully put it back under the truck next month.  I finish midnight shift this week.  Then we are taking our son Cole to the Atlanta aquarium for his 5th birthday.  Then a lot of hours at work the following week.  So I hope to have the truck back together in about 3 weeks.   :crossed:

Its a factory adaptor that's been put back together.  They are weak from the factory & it broke into several pieces a few years ago.  A buddy of mine welded it back together for me if I get just a few trips out of it that's okay with me.  Hopefully I will be changing it out.  I would like to go with a NP 203 then the Dana 20.

topar

Started installing the transfer case in the truck today.  Here is the adaptor in place.

topar

Transfer case, cross member & rear drive shaft in.

topar

Pretty much the same picture as the last one.  The red tape is to remind me that I do not like the way it bolts into the aluminum adaptor so tomorrow I will put in longer bolts go through the top & place nuts on top.

Then today was my day off of work so naturally I had to go in to work for 6 hours.  Hopefully finish it tomorrow & maybe  :crossed: have it move under its own power for the first time in about 4 years.  :crossed:  :crossed:

topar

Did not work on it today.  Had to work on the Dodge instead.  Also mowed the grass in the rain.  :willynilly:

topar

Got the new linksfinished today.  This is a pic. of one of them.  It stormed here all day plus my newly installed slidding glass door leaked so I spent most of the day attempting to stop the leak in the rain & moping.  Hopefully I will have the links in soon.

topar

Drained all the old fuel out, replaced both fuel filters.  I have an Elderbrock off road carb so I took the top of it off & found out why the truck would not start.  Damn ethanol fuel looked like honey I could actually pick it up out of the fuel bowls with my hands.  Once all that was cleaned up with a lot of carb cleaner the truck fired right up.   :clap2:  Now just have to finish putting my links in & adjusting them then off to test drive it!   :crossed:

topar

Had to post this picture, that's my Dodge.

topar

Finished bolting everything up, then drove it around the house did not hear anything from the T case & everything felt good.  After the truck ran a few times it seemed to start having fuel problems so I took the carb off & am tearing it completely down to make sure everything is clean.  Hopefully it will run great then.   :crossed:

In Roanoke, Va. they have a truck show every year called Touch a Truck.  It is all kinds of work & play trucks plus boats & helicopters.  It is a free show that families go to & the kids can get into & on the vehicles.  This year it is Saturday 7/30/11, I am registered for this event so I actually have a dead line to meet.  Hopefully that Sunday I will take Cole (my son) on his first 4x4 trip.

topar

Made it to the truck show.
