Ooooooorrrrrr..........if you get over the "toyota parts are too expensive" mindset and call them before you make up your mind, you may just find that a factory toyota gasket is only about $36 and made WAY better than any other I've seen.  Ask me how I know :gap:

Not knockin your suggestion glen, just that I know so many people just assume toyota parts are too expensive so they never price them.

If you are talking about the Rock Gaskets, they are the ones that engnbldr uses and sells.  They are pretty good gaskets, HG is much like the factory Toyota gasket.

On another note, although there have been reports of numerous problems with Felpro's 22r(e) head gaskets, I find that their intake gaskets are nicer than the rock gaskets...
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

After hearing all the stories about how bad fel pro headgaskets are, I finally have one of my own.  Head and block were clean and flat, after a while I noticed a large white cloud following me to work and knew why my truck was feeling sluggish.  Upon inspection I found that the gasket gave up around the rear 2 water ports, beating a path to the sealing ring and eventually busting through it.  Only metal on the fel pro was the little bit on the sealing ring, but the toyota is chock full.
RIP KYOTA
