Tina ... the three-legged tortoise with caretaker Jo Hawthorn

IT may not be a fast mover but it keeps Tina the three-legged tortoise out of the crawler lane.

The 54-year-old pet has a mini air-filled rubber wheel to replace a leg lost to a predator.

The 4x4 style system even has a tiny shock absorber.

Tina can now go off-road on boggy areas of her enclosure at Longleat Safari Park, Wiltshire.

Darren Beasley — who cares for her with Jo Hawthorn — said: “The system is incredible and allows Tina to go everywhere.”

That’s life in the slow lane.

I hear the crawl ratio is very low, and that exo cage is impenetrable even on a hard roll the occupant usually survives. It is only a single seater though.

When I figure out how to photoshop it onto a trail.  :shake:

All the pics I have are from the PO, and I don't want to post those.

It is stuck in the garage now. Had a rear drive shaft incident and need to get this repaired and back together.

Actually my girlfriend (now ex I guess ). Tried to drive it to work when her car wouldn't start. And the drive shaft bolts came loose at the transfer case.  :shocking: Took out the transfer case e-brake.

And I was out of town. And she got all wet in the rain with the half-doors. My poor old dad had to help her get it home in FWD. Funny story, I'm just not telling it well.

Irony was nothing was really wrong with her car. Just needed to try the switch a couple of times. :smack:

I think the Forest Service has the ability to close it at any time.  :rivers:
I guess there is  some promise to open a new rock crawl area before closing carnage.

I can't get it back out on the trail until I get the flange.

Wow!

I finally got my rig back running again.  :driving:

It took so long I think all the noob has grown back again, not that much had ever worn off. I work even slower than I crawl on the trail.

No pics yet. Try to get some this weekend.
