prerunners use the same suspension IIRC. should have been pretty much bolt in with the same gen IFS stuff.

It was fairly easy once I gathered up all the 4x4 taco parts, i.e. 4x4 trans, t-case, front driveshaft, shorter front section of the rear driveshaft, diff, actuator, spindles w/ manual hubs, CVs for manual hubs from Advanced Auto Parts w/ lifetime replacement and 4x4 trans mount. We started about noon on Friday and finished about 7:30 Saturday evening. And did it all in my garage and driveway. I went with manual hubs because I installed a locker in the diff before converting it. That way I could unlock the hub and get off the trail in 3 wheel. In less than a year of being 4x4 I have broken 6 CVs and blown 1 hub. Currently the taco sits in PreRunner status. I had to pull the diff, CVs and front Driveshaft so that I can do some work on the diff.  Yes I know, SAS it, I have a Waggy D44 in my shop that I need to rebuild. But that will happen after I get the Runner mostly completed.

After swapping in a 22R/trans/T-case from an '85 4Runner  :

...and about 20 cans of Wal Mart flat black. Just stock suspension plus 3" Marlin shackles, now the oil pan is safe from the axle. I'm hooked and want a Toyota for myself!

:turtle: :turtle: :turtle: equipped, of course.

Here's my "Super Duper Extra Long-Term" project:

Not going to 'wheel this truck, just rebuild it. The engine (292 c.i.) is at the shop being bored .060 sometime this month.

Lately, but I have the cab in primer now:

She's getting axles from an '88 Suburban so I will have power brakes, front discs and matching gear ratios; 3.42 instead of factory 4.10s. The seller had put in a '71 front axle and didn't match/check ratios. Guess what happened? The spider gears ate themselves and broke the driveshaft.  :shake_head:

When was the last time you saw a '67 K10 on the road?

Bwahahahaha...I am enjoying exercising my 2nd amendment rights.  The 357 is great cause I can go to the range and shoot cheap 38 specials all day long and save the good rounds for the communists.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I like how you made the front fenders, ever think of closing out the front of it? I think that would look even better.

Yeah, been thinking about closing it up, but just don't know how just yet. I want it to flow with the rest of the front fender.

Yeah, maybe it's time for some tube doors or something that will hold up to a little rock rubbing.
