Need some advice on lifting my truck
« on: Sep 24, 2006, 08:34:21 PM »
Yet again we have a newbie lift question.  What I want to do is lift my 2wd toyota pickup.  I really don't feel like getting a new vehicle and I really would like the looks of lifted toyotas.  I've decided that I want to run some 33"x12.5x15 tires and I need to know what kind of a lift I could get by with to run those size tires.  I'd like to keep it fairly cheap.  I was thinking maybe I could find some lift spindles, axle flip kit for the rear and maybe a 2" body lift if They still don't clear.  Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would love to get this done before the cold and snowy Minnesota winter starts.  thanks

suspensionwise, the 84-95 toyota 2wds are the same, my truck was/is a 4x2 85. spindle lift, and a body lift, with 31s. the spindle lift cleared the 31s though, i jsut did the body lift for extra height.

as for wheels and tires, they use a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern, like a jeep or a ford

haha, im regarded as Captain 4x2 around here, so any questions about it, send me a pm

after 95 they became tacomas

never seen any lift for the 79-84 era of 4x2s, however they do use a torsion bar setup and could probably deal with a crank, a bodylift if needed
