The weather is actually really nice out here right now. I suspect it will get down in the low 30s, nothing real bad.
No, this is just a run that the club wants to go on to give everyone a chance to get on the trail without having to work. They said "NO WORKING ALLOWED" Just to make a stab at the fact that some have worked very very very hard to get the trail open and yet they have not gotten a chance to actually get up there and enjoy it for themselves. I wished I had joined the club earlier this year so I could have helped. It's ok though because I will for sure get plenty of action next season
As for the trail being closed, the Forest Service is in charge of that, and the standard procedure is this:
The Dusy Trail will close if:
a) It is November 1st.
b) There is a large snow storm before Nov 1st.
